Patrick Jovell has been active as international performer and educator since the 1980s. Trained at Malmö Academy, University of California, Los Angeles and privately with American pianist Garrick Ohlsson, Jovell continued his doctoral studies on A. N. Scriabin’s piano music at
Gothenburg Conservatory and École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales – IRCAM in Paris. Having investigated the concept of synaethesia applied in Scriabin’s works, Jovell has lectured on interpretational color analysis in practice at conferences and in workshops at colleges and
conservatories worldwide. Patrick Jovell is a former board member of EPTA-Sweden and The Swedish Music Council (IMC/UNESCO) and has served on the faculties at Gothenburg Conservatory (SE), Tilburg Conservatory (NE)
and Narnia Arts Academy & International Summer Training Program (IT). Students of Jovell’s are prizewinners in national and international piano competitions.
